A quilt bridges the generation gap by connecting people from the past with people yet to come. Perhaps that longing to participate in the future gives quilting its strong appeal. A quilt represents a reach for immortality. We stitch hoping our lives, our personalities, our struggles, and our joys will find a place of remembrance in the minds and emotions of others.
I believe this is true for most crafts that we put our hearts and minds into! What a wonderful blessing that we have been given the ability to create beautiful things with our hands!
A bit of scripture for the day.......
Psalm 90:17
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Hi:
I am glad your package came ok.
Eric sent all the birthday gifts at once. He couldn't of course forget Mitchell, even thou it wasn't his birthday. I found the little pumpkin and pin in Sugarcreek when we went to the festival. Glad you like everything.

Hi Kristen! What a beautiful gift....you are very blessed. Thanks for the scripture reminder as well...yes yes!
Blessings,

That book sounds wonderful. I have just begun quilting this year and hope to produce things that I can pass down through my family.

I enjoy doing many kinds of crafts and quilting is probably #2 right after knitting. Mary Tatem is quite right about quilting but I think it goes even further than that. Any handmade gift tells the recipient "you are worth my time". Unfortunately time dosen't seem valuable until we find that we don't have enough of it.
Welcome Shelly! I am so glad to have you here! I vistited your blog and it is great! Kate, welcome to you as well! I am adding your blog to my blogroll.
Enjoy the book Kristy! I bought it many years ago (when you were a little girl :) ) and I love it. Are you decorated for autumn/Halloween? How about showing some of your decorations???
Love and hugs ~

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I'd like to link to your post on my Quilting and Patchwork blog. I think my readers will enjoy this. I have a heritage of quilting in my family and am pleased my daughter and granddaughter are continuing this family tradition.

I couldn't find an e-mail to send it to you that way, so posted it here.
Kristen,
I gave you an award this morning! Make sure you stop by and see.

Kristen, hi there,
I have really enjoyed reading your blog. Your grandmother told me about it. I enjoyed the quotation from The Quilt of Life so much, thanks for sharing it. I remember Heidi mentioning it. I used the symbolic theme of a patchwork quilt many times when I used to teach. I wish I had known about the book then :>)
I love your pumpkin display.
Warm wishes, Angela
